I have an obsession with art. I make hotel reservations based on their proximity to museums. In an ideal world I would spend my days lounging, book in hand, by the banks of the Seine and sipping chocolat chaud in the cafés that line the streets of Paris. As a rising senior double-majoring in Art History and Economics, I assume one would expect nothing less.
I love to travel and have a fascination for the nuances of different cultures. I credit this interest to my parents, who would round us up as children and take us for long drives that began in my then-hometown of Waverly, a small, remote town in southern Ohio. As we drove, I would stare out the window in wide-eyed awe and excitedly point out the objects of my interest until I fell asleep. And thus my love for travel was born.
I know that my trip to Istanbul this summer will hold the same allure. I hope I can say that while I have become older and wiser over the years, the same sense of awe and wonderment I experienced as a child overtakes me every time I travel. I expect this time to be no different, and I lie anxiously in wait.

Can you bring me back one of those little itty bitty coffee cups? Thanks.
Oh yeah, a lil bit of turkish coffee wouldn’t hurt either.

I was the same way as a kid: my chin on the car window sill, my nose tip making marks on the window. I know you’ll be flooded with beautiful sights and experiences in Turkey. I’m so giddy to hear about them from you. Update often!
